Im Königreich der Habichte herrscht ein grausamer König. Das Land leidet unter dauerndem Frost und eisiger Kälte. Nach der Prophezeiung der alten Habicht-Mutter wird sich das erst ändern, wenn der grausame König von seinem eigenen Sohn um Macht und Leben gebracht wird. Als tatsächlich ein Sohn geboren wird, gibt der König den Befehl, das Neugeborene zu töten. Das verhindern die Habichte. Sie retten das kleine Kind vor dem Tod. Viele Jahre später erfüllt sich die Prophezeiung.
